SCADA Controls Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Manage the entire lifecycle of automation projects from initiation to completion.

• Cultivate and expand new technical service areas focused on SEL RTACs.

• Create and implement logic and control schemes for both remote and local management of power system equipment.

• Design programs for the execution of Remedial Action Schemes, PV Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Microgrid, Renewable Curtailment, Volt/Var Control, Load Shedding, Anti-Islanding, and other custom logic.

• Innovate and apply solutions to automate intricate processes.

• Establish and uphold best practices and guidelines for automation and control systems.

• Offer leadership and guidance to engineering teams, promoting skill enhancement.

• Spearhead the design and implementation of sophisticated SCADA systems.

• Coordinate extensive project teams while managing project timelines and budgets.

• Perform high-level troubleshooting and system diagnostics.

• Develop and standardize SCADA protocols and best practices.

• Work collaboratively with other departments for system integration and improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of two years' experience in SCADA systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in SEL AcSELerator for RTAC, CODESYS, and Python.

• Over 2 years of relevant experience with SEL RTAC 33XX and 35XX SCADA systems using IEC 61131 structured text programming.

• More than 2 years of experience in Relaying, Planning, Substation, Information Technology, or Distribution design, construction, or operations is preferred.

• Deep understanding of network architecture and cybersecurity.
