This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Execute nominal operations to ensure the health of spacecraft, the Kepler Network, and service delivery.
• Identify and resolve anomalies swiftly to restore services.
• Conduct trending analyses and performance evaluations of spacecraft platforms and payloads.
• Create, implement, and continuously enhance operations and processes to boost efficiency.
• Assist in preparations for the launch and commissioning of new spacecraft.
• Prepare for and execute LEOP and the commissioning of upcoming Kepler spacecraft.
• Test the functionality of spacecraft throughout the development phases.
• Engage in spacecraft conceptual studies and provide design input, with a focus on onboard autonomy and FDIR.
• Update and create tools to automate operational tasks, increasing efficiency and reliability.
• Develop and validate operational procedures for all mission phases.
• Triage, assist, escalate, and resolve issues raised internally or by customers.
• Participate in a rotating weekly on-call operations schedule (including shift work and after-hours support) to monitor satellite health and overall Kepler Network operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of LEO, sun-synchronous orbits, and their impact on satellite operations.
• Familiarity with spacecraft command and control systems.
• Proficient in Python and comfortable working within a Linux environment.
• Experience in spacecraft operations or testing, preferably with oversight of platform subsystems or instruments.
• Ability to manage systems with multiple elements and constraints.
• Proven technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated readiness and capability to utilize AI-assisted engineering and development tools to enhance productivity, design quality, and innovation, adapting to evolving technologies and best practices.
• Basic programming knowledge, with preference for skills in Python or other scripting languages.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Capability to work effectively under pressure.
• Flexibility to meet operational requirements, including participation in shift work and on-call duties, which may involve evenings, nights, weekends, and other non-standard hours.
