This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take responsibility for facilitating the successful design, architecture, construction, testing, and deployment of the SAP S/4 Transportation Management solution across all Amgen manufacturing and distribution locations.
• Collaborate with business leaders and engagement teams to aid in the development of business cases that align with the IT roadmap and business strategy.
• Work alongside Business, Operations IS, and ERP solution architects (Order-to-Cash, Record to Report, Source to Settle) to ensure seamless cross-functional integrations and end-to-end solution design.
• Act as the solution owner for SAP transportation management solutions within the global ERP architecture team.
• Lead ongoing improvements to enhance IT effectiveness in collaboration with business and IT.
• Partner with business and operations IS teams to identify future business requirements and prioritize resources and efforts to support critical business projects, enhancements, and process improvements.
• Execute on portfolio investments and ensure that business value outcomes are achieved based on prioritized business needs.
• Champion the implementation of cross-functional initiatives necessary for regulatory compliance.
• Leverage extensive business knowledge to foster engagement on significant IT initiatives.
• Influence architectural decisions and solution selections with business stakeholders and enterprise architects.
• Oversee implementation vendors to ensure the successful execution of projects and services, holding them accountable to project scope, SLAs, and critical metrics.
• Direct configuration and development activities to fulfill business requirements through collaboration with both internal and external teams.
• Ensure that all necessary functional, configuration, and technical design documents for SAP TM capabilities are produced in accordance with GxP requirements and ERP architecture standards.
• Assist Validation/QA teams in ensuring GxP compliance of SAP TM capabilities in line with corporate IT change management standards and IT SOPs, adhering to 21 CFR Part 11 and Annex 11 requirements.
• Advocate for the adoption of SAP industry best practices within the S/4 transportation management and logistics execution workstream.
• Doctorate degree with 2 years of SAP TM implementation experience OR Master’s degree with 6 years of SAP TM implementation experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of SAP TM implementation experience OR Associate’s degree with 10 years of SAP TM implementation experience OR High school diploma/GED with 12 years of SAP TM implementation experience.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in SAP Transportation Management, including a minimum of 3 to 4 end-to-end S/4 TM implementations.
• Strong understanding of SAP supply chain processes.
• Proficient knowledge in SAP TM master data, Transportation Requirement Management, Transportation planning and execution, Charge calculation, and Freight settlement.
• Sufficient knowledge in real-time tracking, monitoring, exception handling, and analysis of Sales orders, deliveries, shipments (Freight Orders, Units, Parcels, Vehicles, Containers) and freight conditions (e.g., secured transportation) to provide visibility on status, location, history, analytics, etc., in a production support environment.
• Hands-on experience with OTR (order-based) & DTR (delivery-based) processes, including Selection, Planning profiles, Condition’s optimizer planning and scheduling, Freight Execution Carrier selection, Tendering/Subcontracting, and Cost distribution.
• Strong understanding of Inbound and Outbound shipments (Domestic and International), Transportation Load Builder (FTL, LTL), various modes of transport, and Freight Settlement.
• Experience integrating TM with other SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI, EM, GTS, EHS, and EWM.
• Experience in the integration of SAP TM with Logistics Business Network (LBN), freight collaboration, and GTT.
• Familiarity with carrier onboarding in LBN/GTT and carrier settings.
