SAP Funds Management, General Ledger Functional Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design SAP Funds Management and General Ledger solutions tailored to intricate business and mission requirements.

• Offer both technical and functional insights on emerging SAP technologies along with strategic and tactical roadmaps.

• Configure and document functionalities for SAP FM/GL.

• Facilitate integration between SAP FM/GL and Financial Accounting, Controlling, Accounts Receivable, Transportation Management, Sales and Distribution, and Asset Accounting.

• Ensure seamless integration between SAP and USTRANSCOM's enterprise resource planning and logistics applications.

• Collect and document business and functional requirements.

• Transform business needs into comprehensive functional specifications.

• Generate system-configuration documents and update system documentation as necessary.

• Prepare assessments of scope and level-of-effort for maintenance requests, enhancements, and system modifications.

• Engage in solution reviews and walkthroughs.

• Configure SAP financial functionalities in accordance with approved requirements.

• Validate system functionalities against established requirements and specifications.

• Diagnose and resolve functional and integration issues in collaboration with technical resources.

• Provide Tier II and Tier III support for incidents and system challenges.

• Assist in SAP enhancements, upgrades, and new implementations.

• Collaborate with SAP team members to ensure timely task completion and project delivery.

• Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies and team activities.

• Create end-user training materials and system documentation.

• Lead knowledge-transfer sessions.

• Document procedures, business processes, and system configurations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be eligible to obtain a Federal Secret security clearance (Active clearance preferred).

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required.

• A minimum of eight years of experience in supporting SAP implementations, enhancements, operations, or maintenance.

• Substantial experience in configuring SAP Funds Management and General Ledger functionalities.

• Proven ability to configure SAP financial modules and grasp cross-module integration points.

• Familiarity with documenting business requirements and creating detailed functional specifications.

• Experience in developing and maintaining system-configuration documentation.

• Proven experience in testing SAP functionalities against approved requirements and specifications.

• Strong collaborative skills to effectively work with technical and business teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to present proposed solutions and technical concepts to stakeholders.

• Creative and adaptable approach to problem-solving.

• Proficiency in engaging with clients to ascertain their needs.

• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

• Preferred: Experience in implementing or supporting SAP S/4HANA.

• Preferred: Knowledge of the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Government Invoicing processes.

• Preferred: Experience working within a SAFe Agile environment.

• Preferred: Background in supporting Department of Defense or other federal financial management systems.

• Preferred: Understanding of federal financial management regulations and compliance requirements.

• Preferred: Experience with usability, user-experience, and user-interface design.

• Preferred: Skills in data analytics or reporting using SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau, or similar tools.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting SAP upgrades, enhancements, and new implementations.

• Preferred: Experience in developing end-user training materials and conducting knowledge-transfer sessions.

• Preferred: Ability to work effectively both in a team setting and independently.

• Preferred: Strong relationship management skills with customers and vendors.
