SAP Functional Consultant – Finance, Logistics (FI/CO/FM/SD)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Configure and deploy SAP S/4HANA functionalities across the FI, CO, FM, and SD modules.

• Convert business needs into functional designs, system configurations, and technical specifications.

• Assist with General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Centers, Internal Orders, Budget Control, Sales Order Processing, Billing, and Pricing activities.

• Guarantee integration among finance, supply chain, transportation, and logistics functions.

• Collaborate with government stakeholders to enhance financial controls, reporting, and logistics operations.

• Lead Fit-to-Standard workshops, business process reengineering sessions, and solution demonstrations.

• Create Functional Design Documents, configuration guidelines, procedures, and training materials.

• Draft functional specifications for RICEFW custom developments.

• Work in partnership with ABAP developers throughout the development, testing, and deployment phases.

• Oversee master data governance for financial, customer, and organizational data.

• Direct unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.

• Provide Tier II/III production support and resolve complex issues.

• Assist with data migration, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.

• Deliver iterative enhancements that align with mission requirements.

• Aid in release management, deployments, and post-production stabilization.

• Support cybersecurity, audit, ATO, and compliance initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with DoD financial management policies and federal regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of functional SAP experience in one or more modules: FI, CO, FM, or SD.

• Practical experience in implementing or supporting SAP S/4HANA.

• Comprehensive understanding of enterprise financial management and logistics business processes.

• Capability to write functional specifications for custom SAP developments.

• Experience in testing, production support, and system enhancements.

• Outstanding analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

• Desired: Experience in supporting Department of Defense ERP modernization initiatives.

• Desired: Familiarity with SAP Activate implementation methodology and Agile software development practices.

• Desired: Experience integrating FI/CO/FM/SD with MM, TM, EWM, EAM, or GTS modules.

• Desired: Knowledge of SAP Fiori applications and modern user experience design.

• Desired: SAP certification in FI, CO, FM, or SD modules.

• Desired: Understanding of federal financial management requirements and government accounting standards.

• Desired: Experience with SAP Master Data Governance, Business Workflow, or Analytics Cloud.

• Desired: Project management or Agile certifications (PMP, CSM, SAFe).
