SAP Data Services Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, and enhance SAP Data Services (BODS) ETL/ELT workflows, dataflows, and mappings across SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, and non-SAP systems.

• Convert complex business requirements into precise source-to-target mappings with comprehensive transformation logic.

• Create extraction routines utilizing SAP HANA tables, extractors, RFCs, APIs, web services, flat files, and cloud platforms.

• Develop routines for data cleansing, standardization, validation, and business rule processing.

• Execute data profiling and assessment routines to discover patterns, gaps, anomalies, and quality issues.

• Oversee, debug, and troubleshoot job executions to address performance issues and eliminate bottlenecks.

• Design and deliver high-quality, mission-oriented data solutions that support DoD transportation operations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional experts in Planning, Procurement, Fulfillment, Financials, Application Development, Security, GRC, and Identity & Access Management.

• Contribute to USTRANSCOM’s global mission through SAP S/4HANA transportation and logistics solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum requirement).

• 3–5+ years of experience in Data Integration/Warehousing, including at least 3 years focused on SAP Data Services development.

• Solid understanding of SAP table structures, data models, extractors, and end-to-end business processes.

• Proficiency in advanced BODS transformations, high-performance ETL patterns, parallel processing, and optimization techniques.

• Demonstrated experience integrating SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP MDG, and SAP Information Steward.

• SQL scripting skills.

• Shell scripting experience (Unix/Linux).

• Familiarity with ABAP for automation purposes.

• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA data models and business processes across FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, and HR.

• Advanced SQL, performance tuning, and database optimization capabilities.

• Experience with SAP HANA pushdown optimization, integration, and contemporary data warehousing techniques.

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.

• Previous experience supporting USTRANSCOM programs or transportation operations (desired).

• Familiarity with DoD transportation doctrine, including DTR and DoD FMR requirements (desired).

• Experience applying Clean Core principles within SAP S/4HANA environments (desired).
