SAP ABAP Developer, Brownfield

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and implement SAP ABAP solutions for S/4HANA Brownfield projects and conversion initiatives.

• Evaluate existing ECC systems and modify or enhance current custom developments for S/4HANA compatibility.

• Review custom programs to decide whether they should be preserved, improved, redesigned, or phased out.

• Create and manage RICEFW components, which include reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.

• Develop integration solutions utilizing IDocs, ALE, Proxy, OData, SOAP/REST APIs, and web services.

• Employ ABAP on HANA methodologies, such as CDS Views, AMDP, SQL optimization, and code pushdown strategies.

• Conduct custom code migration and remediation through tools like ATC, Simplification Database, SPAU, and SPDD.

• Enhance performance leveraging ST05, SAT, SQL Monitor, ATC, and runtime analysis techniques.

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues in production and integration environments.

• Work in collaboration with functional teams to gather requirements, perform impact assessments, and provide technical solutions.

• Assist in unit testing, SIT, UAT, defect resolution, cutover, deployment, and post-go-live support.

• Liaise with various stakeholders in Agile and onsite-offshore delivery frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–10 years of extensive hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.

• Considerable experience in S/4HANA Brownfield implementation and conversion projects.

• In-depth knowledge of the ECC to S/4HANA transition, system evaluations, custom code remediation, and modification of existing developments.

• Practical experience with RICEFW components, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.

• Strong proficiency in ABAP OO, ALV, BAPI, BADI, User Exits, Customer Exits, Enhancement Framework, RFC, and Function Modules.

• Experience in utilizing IDocs, ALE, Proxy, OData, SOAP/REST APIs, and web services for integration purposes.

• Solid understanding of ABAP on HANA, encompassing CDS Views, AMDP, SQL optimization, and code pushdown techniques.

• Familiarity with ATC, Custom Code Migration, Simplification Database, SPAU/SPDD, and remediation of custom objects during S/4HANA conversion.

• Proficient in analyzing existing ECC custom programs to determine their future in S/4HANA (retain, remediate, redesign, or retire).

• Experience in performance optimization techniques using ST05, SAT, SQL Monitor, ATC, and runtime analysis.

• Exceptional debugging abilities and experience resolving complex production and integration challenges.

• Skilled in collaborating with functional teams to comprehend business requirements, conduct impact analysis, and deliver effective technical solutions.

• Good grasp of S/4HANA data models and the compatibility changes relative to ECC.

• Background in unit testing, SIT, UAT support, defect resolution, cutover, deployment, and post-go-live assistance.

• Experience in Agile and onsite-offshore delivery methods, coordinating with numerous stakeholders.
