This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Take ownership of the Salesforce platform architecture, including the data model, security model, integration architecture, and overall technical health of the organization.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of intricate Salesforce features, integrations, and platform enhancements.
• Directly supervise two Salesforce Engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, mentorship, and support for their career development.
• Design and sustain integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems using Boomi middleware and direct API patterns.
• Establish and uphold coding standards, design patterns, and release management practices throughout the Salesforce organization.
• Facilitate discovery and requirements analysis sessions with business stakeholders, translating their needs into scalable technical specifications.
• Assess third-party AppExchange solutions and provide guidance on build-versus-buy decisions.
• Manage technical debt, governor limit health, and the security posture of the platform, including profiles, permission sets, and data sharing rules.
• Oversee Salesforce release management by evaluating the impact of tri-annual releases, coordinating testing efforts, and managing opt-in adoption.
• Advise on aligning the Salesforce roadmap in collaboration with the VP of Enterprise Applications and Commercial leadership.
• Collaborate with the Data Architect on Salesforce data governance, master data strategy, and integration with Axiom's enterprise data model.
• Contribute to cross-platform architecture decisions in partnership with the VP of Enterprise Applications and fellow platform leads.
• Over 7 years of Salesforce engineering experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a leading, architecting, or senior individual contributor role.
• Expert-level proficiency in Apex, covering asynchronous patterns (Batch, Queueable, Future), SOQL optimization, and management of governor limits.
• Salesforce Platform Developer II certification is required; Application Architect, System Architect, or equivalent credentials are highly preferred.
• Proven experience in designing and governing Salesforce integrations with enterprise systems like Workday, Boomi, or similar middleware.
• Strong comprehension of the Salesforce security model, sharing architecture, and data access patterns.
• Familiarity with SFDX, CI/CD pipelines, and version-controlled Salesforce development.
• Demonstrated capability to lead and mentor a team of engineers.
• Experience with CPQ or Revenue Cloud is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills; comfortable navigating both technical architecture reviews and sessions with business stakeholders.
• Effectively prioritizes tasks in a fast-paced, interrupt-driven environment.
• A background in professional services, legal services, or staffing industries is a plus.
