This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Promote the company's products and services while fostering relationships with both new and existing accounts.
• Assist Sysco customers in achieving success while meeting the company's sales and profit objectives.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, deepen existing account penetration, and reduce lost business within the designated territory.
• Identify and qualify prospects in alignment with the company’s account stratification goals.
• Analyze customer business needs and create a tailored mix of products and services.
• Assess market trends and recommend products that align with customer business needs and objectives.
• Share insights on market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ offerings, pricing, and sales strategies.
• Address customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and usage.
• Provide product information and hands-on training to customer personnel.
• Travel to customer accounts, trade shows, company meetings, and other business-related events.
• Communicate and coordinate with the credit department and clients to manage accounts receivable when necessary.
• Oversee deliveries and resolve any order-processing issues that arise.
• Engage in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and events.
• Participate in general sales and district meetings, along with ongoing training sessions.
• Assist in training new employees as needed.
• Review and analyze sales reports, including special orders, bid files, and gross profit margins.
• Prepare sales budgets and reports, maintain sales records, manage credit and pick-up requests, prepare sales quotes, menu suggestions, and file reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field, OR a High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of experience in Restaurant Management, B2B, or outside sales, or equivalent experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship.
• Bilingual skills, along with experience in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, and culinary roles, are preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the company's insurability standards.
• Current automobile insurance with bodily injury limits of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident, as well as property damage limits of $100,000.
• Must successfully pass employment testing.
• Must sign the Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement.
• Reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographic area of the designated territory.
• Basic PC skills and proficiency in MS Office are required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Availability to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
