This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.
• Selling HPR systems, products, and services to customers with an emphasis on volume and profitability.
• Comprehending customer needs and converting them into an optimal technical and commercial solution.
• Drafting proposals for solutions or services to be presented to customers by conducting basic engineering, collaborating with the engineering department for assistance, and coordinating with other business functions as required.
• Engaging in communication and negotiation with customers regarding the commercial components of the proposal, including payments, warranties, pricing, and general terms and conditions, in alignment with ABB’s offerings and strategy.
• Ensuring the execution of effective marketing activities and conveying the value proposition to customers.
• Identifying and propelling the growth of new market opportunities within the assigned market.
• Overseeing administrative procedures in sales processes and assisting with cash collection and project management activities when necessary.
• Configuring the HPR system according to customer specifications and/or RFQ while preparing technical and commercial proposals by collaborating with all supporting functions, including engineering, supply chain, HSE, and contract management departments, as well as main suppliers.
• Presenting and discussing the technical solution with the customer, enabling them to effectively advocate for it within their management.
• Participating in trade shows and marketing events.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a focus on power electronics, power converters, or power systems.
• Over 5 years of experience in an industrial environment, with at least 3 years of expertise in electrical engineering applied to Power Converters and Electrical Distribution.
• Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives and Power Converters is advantageous.
• Experience and working knowledge of High Power Rectifier systems will be a significant asset, along with knowledge of automation systems.
• Knowledge of and/or eagerness to learn General Sales Practices, Sales Engineering, and proficiency in Sales Proposal preparation, including the ability to engage with major suppliers.
• Strong negotiation and account management skills are a plus.
• Understanding of Contract and Risk Management, along with the ability to discuss commercial terms with Contract Managers.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time as needed within the United States and Canada.
