This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Oversee multiple significant accounts for the US Department of Defense.
• Comprehend customer IT and business goals, priorities, needs, and challenges, while implementing HPE’s strategic approach.
• Enhance business performance across HPE units and maximize the profitability of the account portfolio.
• Generate pipeline, assist in closing deals, and coordinate multidisciplinary deal teams.
• Cultivate relationships with IT and business influencers and decision-makers, including C-level executives.
• Develop and engage the partner ecosystem to amplify HPE’s footprint within accounts.
• Stay informed about IT industry trends and position HPE’s offerings within customer environments.
• Lead and provide insights to extended account team members.
• Serve as the customer’s advocate within HPE.
• Strategically plan account activities to achieve results throughout the financial year and beyond.
• Formulate and execute detailed account business plans.
• Direct intricate, cross-business-unit sales initiatives and manage pursuit resources.
• Identify, cultivate, and finalize high-value short-, mid-, and long-term opportunities.
• Govern pipeline management, deal ownership, account teams, and partner networks.
• Present technology options and business value frameworks to clients.
• Collaborate with HPE organizations to enhance customer experience, satisfaction, and loyalty.
• Mentor and support junior employees.
• A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in an enterprise environment.
• At least 3 years of successful sales experience in acquiring new business and exploring white space.
• Over 5 years of military experience with the US Department of Defense/Department of War or selling to this sector.
• 5+ years of experience in big data, hybrid IT, IT services, digital business, information security, AI, and intelligent edge is preferred.
• Proven track record of managing and surpassing sales quotas.
• Capability to manage existing accounts while simultaneously acquiring and nurturing new business.
• Previous experience in the IT industry.
• Experience as an IT leader, within an IT department, or collaborating with customers is advantageous.
• Active government security clearance is preferred; candidates must be eligible for security clearance if not currently held.
• Familiarity with federal funding and contracting processes.
• A university or bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Education in engineering or technology, advanced degrees, or an MBA is desirable.
• Strong understanding of IT technology trends and proficiency in HPE products, solutions, and services.
• Ability to lead dispersed and indirect teams within a complex matrix organization.
• Skill in building professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of business concepts, financial reports, public-sector organizations, and operational excellence.
• Insight into the customer industry landscape, enterprise architecture, partner, and influencer ecosystem is preferred.
