
Sales Engineer – Semiconductor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Propel the growth of the semiconductor market by formulating and implementing strategies in wet processing, in-chamber, CMP, and backend test applications.
• Analyze the semiconductor landscape to pinpoint OEMs, end users, emerging opportunities, strategic accounts, and key decision-makers.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, certifications, and the evolving requirements of applications.
• Act as the technical authority supporting Territory Managers and Regional Sales Managers on strategic initiatives.
• Create and qualify new business prospects in collaboration with the commercial team.
• Engage in customer meetings to offer application insights, troubleshooting assistance, and material recommendations.
• Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline utilizing Salesforce or an equivalent CRM system.
• Guide sales professionals and channel partners on semiconductor applications, materials, and technical sales techniques.
• Assist engineers and customers in selecting materials based on application needs, operating conditions, chemical exposure, and manufacturability.
• Analyze engineering drawings and technical specifications to suggest suitable material solutions.
• Support technical evaluations, customer qualifications, and specification adjustments from concept to execution.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to address customer challenges.
• Collect Voice of the Customer insights and collaborate with Product Development and R&D on future semiconductor materials.
• Assess competitor materials and emerging technologies.
• Help shape long-term product strategy through customer and market intelligence.
• Drive specification growth for Mitsubishi Chemical materials within semiconductor applications.
• Assist in Advanced Materials University training programs for distributors and OEM customers.
• Foster relationships across the semiconductor supply chain and represent Mitsubishi Chemical as a reliable technical resource.
• Travel approximately 50% for customer visits, industry events, technical support, and training sessions.
• Over 10 years of experience in supporting the semiconductor industry.
• Direct experience with semiconductor equipment in roles such as OEM engineer, equipment engineer, field service engineer, tool owner, or a similar hands-on technical position.
• In-depth knowledge of semiconductor applications, including wet processing, etch, CMP, and/or backend test.
• Experience with machined plastics, stock shape materials, or engineered plastic components is preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proven project management experience in supporting technical qualifications and specification changes.
• Capability to develop strategies and execute them with minimal oversight.
• Strong mentoring, coaching, and technical training abilities.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and relationship-building capabilities.
• Forward-thinking mindset to identify future customer and industry requirements.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field is preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with high-performance thermoplastics and engineered materials is preferred.
• Existing connections within the semiconductor industry are preferred.
• Experience in supporting new product introductions and technical evaluations is preferred.
• Experience working with OEMs, distributors, and semiconductor manufacturers is preferred.
• Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce is preferred.
