This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct demonstrations and define Proof of Concepts (PoCs) alongside our Account Executives, from the initial technical call to the final close.
• Convert customer challenges into tailored Soda solutions, and articulate Soda's capabilities in the customer's terminology.
• Develop bespoke demos, sample pipelines, and PoC environments that effectively demonstrate real value.
• Manage product, technical, and security inquiries in Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Assist customers throughout the evaluation, purchasing, and implementation phases.
• Serve as the technical representative in discussions with Data Engineers, Heads of Data Platforms, and Chief Data Officers.
• Relay important feedback to product and engineering teams from the field regarding what strategies are effective, which are not, and the reasons behind these outcomes.
• Occasionally travel to customer locations, team offsite events, and conferences.
• Embrace a variety of roles - being part of a startup means you'll engage with every phase of the sales process.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or in a similar customer-facing technical role within a B2B SaaS company.
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficient in Python - able to read, write, and debug code in front of customers.
• Experience in conducting demos and supporting PoCs within customer settings.
• Excellent customer communication skills - clear, calm, and honest under pressure. Capable of explaining technically complex concepts to both Data Engineers and VPs of Data in the same discussion.
• Possess a builder mentality with a focus on processes - driven to optimize and streamline tedious processes. You create documentation proactively. You identify broken processes and suggest improvements. You prefer developing AI workflows to automate repetitive tasks rather than performing them manually multiple times, and you have demonstrated this.
• Demonstrate high energy and effective prioritization - adept at context switching, managing multiple projects with broad ownership, and maintaining accountability.
• Exhibit a humble attitude, willingness to assist others, and a commitment to acquiring any necessary knowledge to ensure the success of both your team and our customers.
• Must be located in the US.
• Preferred qualifications: Degree from a leading university, experience selling to data teams (Data Engineers, Data Platform, CDOs), familiarity with data quality, governance, or observability tools, fluency in data stack technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Kafka, experience in a high-growth Series A-C startup, experience in creating or presenting custom demos, and experience working remotely in a fast-paced environment.
• Base salary: $100,000-$130,000.
