This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Formulate and implement sales strategies aimed at meeting revenue and market share goals within the designated territory.
• Discover and chase new business prospects with utilities, OEMs, EPCs, industrial sites, and renewable energy clients.
• Advocate for Qualitrol solutions related to transformer monitoring, partial discharge monitoring, GIS monitoring, breaker monitoring, power quality, fault recording, and digital asset management.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution workshops for clients and partners.
• Support the entire sales process, including prospecting, technical qualification, proposal formulation, commercial negotiations, and project completion.
• Establish and nurture robust technical and commercial relationships with stakeholders at all levels of customer organizations.
• Comprehend customer operational challenges and align Qualitrol technologies with their reliability and maintenance strategies.
• Offer consultative assistance regarding asset monitoring, condition assessment, predictive maintenance, and digital substation initiatives.
• Provide support for site visits, technical evaluations, FAT/SAT activities, and field demonstrations as necessary.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in high-voltage asset monitoring technologies.
• Aid customers in application engineering discussions related to power transformers, gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), circuit breakers, generators, motors, partial discharge monitoring, SF6 monitoring, power quality, and fault recording systems.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of utility standards, industry trends, and competitive technologies.
• Develop and assist representative firms, distributors, VARs, and channel partners.
• Provide technical and commercial training to channel partners and customers.
• Support partners in opportunity development, solution positioning, and customer engagement strategies.
• Ensure channel alignment with regional growth objectives.
• Keep accurate opportunity pipelines, sales forecasts, and account activity within Salesforce CRM.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews.
• Monitor market activity, competitive intelligence, and customer project developments.
• Collaborate with leadership to create account plans and territory growth strategies.
• Work closely with engineering and product management teams to relay Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback and market requirements.
• Assist with product launches, pilot projects, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Coordinate with field service and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project execution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
• Advanced technical or business education is preferred.
• 7–10+ years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or power systems engineering.
• Background in electric utilities, transmission & distribution, power generation, or industrial electrical systems is essential.
• Demonstrated success in supporting or selling high-voltage monitoring and diagnostic solutions.
• Experience with utilities, OEMs, EPCs, or industrial end users is preferred.
• Strong understanding of: power transformers and their accessories, substations and T&D infrastructure, partial discharge technologies, GIS and SF6 monitoring, breaker monitoring systems, digital substations and SCADA integration, condition-based maintenance (CBM), asset performance management (APM), as well as IEEE, IEC, and utility industry standards.
• A blend of remote work, customer visits, substations, power plants, OEM facilities, and industry events.
• Travel may range from 40–60% depending on territory and project activity.
