This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Identify and cultivate your own pipeline through outbound cold calls, email outreach, and lead development sourced independently across the designated territory.

• Take full responsibility for the entire sales process from the initial cold call to contract close on new accounts.

• Establish and maintain relationships with Facility Managers, Operations leaders, and financial decision-makers at hospitals, universities, large manufacturers, and municipalities.

• Inform potential customers about Voltus's demand response programs and convert grid economics into operational and financial advantages for each account.

• Achieve activity-based targets in Q1 and transition into a quota-carrying role from Q2 onwards.

• Keep precise pipeline data, forecasting, and deal activity updated in the CRM system.

• Work collaboratively with your Regional Sales Manager and fellow Sales Development Representatives to exchange market insights, enhance outreach strategies, and improve closing rates over time.


⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in self-generated outbound prospecting and securing new business. Candidates with experience limited to managing an existing book of business will not be suitable for this position.

• Experience in selling to commercial and industrial accounts. Existing connections with hospital groups, universities, large manufacturers, or municipalities in the Midwest are highly advantageous.

• A background in the energy sector is not essential. Some of our top performers have come from other industries, but familiarity with energy markets, brokers, or commercial and industrial energy buyers can expedite the ramp-up process.

• Open to coaching and feedback, possessing a long-term perspective. The first year serves as a ramp-up period, but the renewal commission structure allows your book of business to grow significantly in the second and third years.

• Able to work independently in Q1, with activity metrics driving performance rather than quota.
