This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Act as the main contact for a designated portfolio of government and public-sector clients, providing outstanding service, strategic insight, and continuous support to ensure sustained success and retention.
• Offer detailed training and onboarding—both onsite and remotely—through phone, email, and virtual platforms to empower clients in effectively utilizing the GovDeals auction marketplace.
• Enhance client engagement and performance through regular follow-ups, proactive outreach, and consultative advice that aids clients in optimizing auction results and revenue.
• Work closely with the Territory Business Development Manager to assist in acquiring new clients, fortifying existing relationships, and actively defending accounts from competitive threats.
• Represent GovDeals at conferences, trade shows, and industry events, engaging with current and potential clients while reinforcing GovDeals’ reputation as a trusted leader in government asset disposition.
• Provide hands-on, field-based client support, including cataloging assets, collecting detailed descriptions, and photographing items in various indoor and outdoor settings and weather conditions.
• Oversee and review client auction listings to ensure high-quality asset presentation, compliance with best practices, and adherence to robust auction standards that protect client interests and uphold the GovDeals brand.
• Identify inactive or underutilized accounts and collaborate with leadership to devise and implement targeted re-engagement strategies that renew client participation and foster incremental growth.
• Present to prospective clients as necessary, effectively communicating the advantages of the GovDeals platform and illustrating how it promotes transparency, efficiency, and revenue generation for public agencies.
• Serve as a professional ambassador for GovDeals, consistently showcasing integrity, responsiveness, and expertise when engaging with government entities and the public sector.
• Associate’s degree is preferred. Relevant coursework or experience in business, public administration, sales, or customer service is advantageous.
• At least 1+ years of practical experience in account management, customer success, client services, or a similar client-facing role, ideally within a technology-driven or service-oriented environment.
• Experience with government agencies, municipalities, school districts, or other public-sector organizations is highly preferred, with a solid understanding of their processes, compliance requirements, and stakeholder dynamics.
• Previous experience in a position that necessitates frequent travel, onsite client interaction, or field-based support is strongly desired.
• Strong capability to establish, maintain, and develop long-term relationships with government and public-sector clients through trust, responsiveness, and consultative engagement.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering effective training, conducting professional presentations, and clearly articulating platform value to diverse audiences.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with sales and internal partners to facilitate new client acquisition, safeguard existing accounts, and provide a seamless client experience.
• Proficient in using web-based platforms, online marketplaces, CRM systems, and standard business software including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet tools.
• Highly self-driven with the ability to manage a remote workload, prioritize competing demands, and sustain productivity with minimal supervision.
• Able to provide hands-on assistance including asset cataloging, gathering descriptions, and photographing items in both indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Willing and able to travel approximately 60% of the time within the assigned territory to meet client needs and attend industry events.
• Comfortable adapting to changing client needs, environments, and priorities while maintaining a solution-oriented, service-focused approach.
• Demonstrates professionalism, credibility, and sound judgment when interacting with government entities, public-sector stakeholders, and the general public.
