• Oversee the processes related to Worker’s Compensation and general liability.
• Collaborate with Blue Bottle teams to recognize and evaluate health and safety risks, create remediation plans, and track mitigation efforts.
• Create, assess, and monitor metrics, best practices, and regulatory matters to pinpoint crucial areas for proactive health and safety initiatives and reduce overall unsafe conditions, employee incidents, and Worker’s Compensation claims.
• Accountable for the establishment and execution of company-wide safety programs directed at cafe, production, and support environments, which include slip/trip/fall prevention, ergonomic practices, fire/life safety, workplace violence prevention, incident response, and other OSHA safety compliance initiatives.
• Provide guidance to key stakeholders and teams throughout the organization regarding safety and security protocols and procedures.
• Ensure that Blue Bottle adheres to regulatory requirements as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
• Engage in the development and execution of departmental safety work order tracking and reporting.
• Carry out regular and follow-up environmental health, safety, and hazard inspections of facilities.
• Respond to emergencies involving hazardous materials, fire and smoke incidents, or unidentified hazards; compile reports of findings and offer recommendations.
• Lead projects and initiatives, including the creation of communications, training materials, and other change management tools to inform stakeholders about new and updated policies, processes, and programs.
• Remain informed about all relevant federal, state, and local employment regulations and industry standards.
• Formulate and uphold SHE policies to guarantee compliance with applicable regulations.
• Perform additional safety, health, and environmental functions as necessary based on the evolving business needs.
• 7+ years of experience in a safety, health, and environmental role, including expertise in worker’s compensation.
• Experience in the retail or hospitality sectors is advantageous.
• Strong grasp of current federal, state, and local regulations and compliance areas.
• Profound knowledge in essential safety, health, and environmental functions, particularly regarding worker’s compensation.
• Experience in a high-growth environment supporting employees across the U.S.
• Proven success in developing, drafting, and revising SHE policies.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Cafes, Production, Operations, and People.
