Rukiga/English OPI, VRI Interpretation Vacancy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uganda.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and comprehensive interpretations.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Demonstrate a strong desire to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Rukiga."

• At least 1 year of experience in telephonic interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are beneficial (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and tolerance for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
