This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with traders and researchers to discover potential trading opportunities driven by news.

• Keep core themes current by sharing significant information.

• Maintain a comprehensive calendar of important events.

• Identify primary sources of breaking news for all monitored themes.

• Partner with developers to enhance the integration of key sources.

• Monitor content streams in real-time and inform traders and researchers of potential trading opportunities.

• Create high-precision automated alerts for themes of interest, adjusting priorities, enabling, disabling, and updating alerts as market conditions evolve.

• Regularly review alerts to ensure they remain relevant, robust, and reliable.

• Lead product development for our real-time event monitoring and alerting system.

• Conduct QA/UAT and test all alert and product releases to ensure they adhere to the firm’s high quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in trading firms, hedge funds, market intelligence, or financial news organizations, particularly in identifying and generating alpha from news.

• Extensive understanding of real-time information flows and their influence on price formation.

• Familiarity with news dissemination and tracking high-impact sources, individuals, and topics in real-time.

• Knowledge of precision/recall scoring methods for optimizing alert systems.

• Experience with social media aggregation tools such as X Pro (TweetDeck).

• Background in working with unstructured data and text analytics.

• Proficient in market data, financial data charting, and analytics.

• Skilled in scripting and query languages such as Python, Rust, and SQL.

• Strong attention to detail with the capacity to monitor various market themes concurrently.

• Capability to make swift, informed decisions under pressure, including accurate analysis and reaction to critical market-moving events.

• Exceptional communication skills to convey key insights and findings to traders and researchers.
