This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, maintain, implement, analyze, develop, and test proprietary software applications on the IBM i platform.
• Collaborate with users, Business Analysts, and IT team members to create technical specifications and evaluate impacts on applications, systems, and databases.
• Develop and utilize binding directories, binder source, prototypes, prototype interfaces, sub-procedures, stored procedures, and service programs.
• Update programs and troubleshoot issues using expertise in data-centric architecture, design, programming, and performance optimization.
• Oversee projects utilizing project-management and change-management software tools.
• Diagnose and resolve application system errors in coordination with the Support Desk, Training, and business partners.
• Identify and assess emerging technologies and provide recommendations to management.
• Provide time tracking and project insights to the Project Management Office and management.
• Lead, plan, and execute IT process-improvement initiatives.
• Act as a subject matter expert for less experienced team members and business partners.
• Address escalated inquiries and complex challenges.
• Facilitate new-hire training, cross-training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
• Develop training materials, job aids, and documentation for rollouts and updates.
• Review the work of junior team members and offer assessments and recommendations to management.
• Create departmental templates and models for processes, modules, and coding techniques.
• Conduct analysis and contribute to special management initiatives and projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma preferred.
• A minimum of five years of direct RPG programming and development experience across various high-complexity projects.
• Experience in the financial services or mortgage servicing industries is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of all facets and versions of RPG and CL on IBM i.
• In-depth understanding of binding directories, binder source, prototypes, sub-procedures, activation groups, and service programs.
• Familiarity with DB2 native commands, security and access, SQL, SEQUEL, DDM, data-centric architecture, design, and performance tuning.
• Experience with embedded SQL, stored procedures, web services, and APIs.
• General knowledge of FTP, SFTP, and XML.
• Basic understanding of Websmart, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to think critically and assess facts, data, downstream impacts, and associated risks.
