Romanian VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specialized vocabulary relevant to the industry you interpret for, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions are made.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpreting sessions.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise interpretations of messages.

• Implement Standards of Practice consistently.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report regularly to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Romanian."

• At least 1 year of experience in over-the-telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
