This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance advanced robotic systems operating within customer facilities across Texas and the Central United States.
• Oversee a territory centered in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, providing support for customer locations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, Kansas, and neighboring states.
• Offer surge assistance for deployments, preventative maintenance initiatives, and new product rollouts nationwide.
• Identify failures, document repairs, and investigate root causes to make direct contributions to next-generation products.
• Represent Tutor in a professional manner at customer locations and foster strong customer relationships.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting, repairing, building, maintaining, or deploying electromechanical systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Practical experience with motors, sensors, actuators, drives, pneumatics, conveyors, robotics, industrial automation, CNC, AGVs, AMRs, or similar systems.
• Ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation.
• Proficient in using multimeters, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong documentation discipline – consistently log your work thoroughly and adhere to SOPs, even when working independently in the field.
• Excellent communication skills, with a tendency to over-communicate by default; comfortable working asynchronously over Slack and proactive in keeping the team and customers informed.
• Ability to handle ambiguity with ease – you can navigate uncertain situations, find solutions, and drive issues to resolution without a detailed guide.
• Strong capability to manage customer relationships independently – no office or onsite manager.
• Self-motivated and accountable: you effectively manage your own schedule, routes, and priorities.
• Willingness to travel (~75%) and take full ownership of problems from start to finish.
• Reside in the Riverside / Inland Empire area (or be open to relocating).
• Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the U.S.
• Level II: approximately 2+ years of experience maintaining industrial automation, robotics, conveyors, packaging equipment, AGVs/AMRs, CNC, or similar electromechanical systems.
• Level III: approximately 5+ years of experience, with a proven track record of leading complex diagnostics, independently managing root-cause investigations, and being the go-to person for peers seeking assistance.
