This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Prior to deploying a work cell, collaborate with the customer to understand their manufacturing process by observing the existing workflow, taking measurements, and reviewing CAD and machine documentation.
• Work in partnership with mechanical and robotics engineers to design the layout of the work cell tailored to a specific manufacturing process, ensuring consideration of the robot's reachability and cycle time.
• Lead design modifications for the robot end-of-arm tool and part fixtures in collaboration with mechanical engineers, overseeing the fabrication, assembly, and testing of these components.
• Be present on-site during the delivery of the work cell to oversee unboxing, setup, and provide customer training on system usage.
• Configure and test the work cell within the customer's manufacturing process, which includes the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control components like proximity sensors, relays, and vacuum ejectors.
• Address, investigate, and resolve intricate technical challenges across software, hardware, sensors, and tooling, escalating issues with a clear root cause analysis when remote solutions are not viable.
• Respond to customer inquiries via email and phone regarding system usage, making on-site service calls when issues cannot be resolved remotely, while identifying new opportunities to broaden impact within each account.
• Work cross-functionally with Robotics Software, Hardware, and Product teams during deployments, providing structured feedback aimed at enhancing both the product and the field engineering experience.
• Utilize AI tools to expedite troubleshooting, debugging, and the creation of technical documentation, increasing both your own productivity and that of the team.
• Maintain adaptable working hours that align with customer manufacturing production schedules and travel to customer locations as required, up to 75% of the time.
• A minimum of 2 years of industry experience showcasing hands-on hardware and software skills, particularly in manufacturing automation or a comparable field.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations in Tijuana and Mexicali, up to 75% of the time, and to engage with customers at their sites.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and respond effectively to emergency situations.
• Ability to convey technical and complex information clearly, both verbally and in writing; thorough documentation is essential.
• Proficient in resolving technical issues effectively, efficiently, and independently.
• Proven experience working in Linux environments and utilizing remote support tools.
• Professional working proficiency in both Spanish and English, encompassing written and verbal communication.
• Readiness to thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
• Must possess authorization to work in Mexico and maintain ongoing work authorization from the start of employment throughout the duration of employment.
