RN Nurse Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct proactive and prospective audits, retrospective and defense audits, as well as targeted and ad hoc charge capture audits.

• Collaborate with clinical staff during the auditing process.

• Organize audit schedules, develop action plans, and present findings during the Chart Audit Committee meetings.

• Offer expert guidance and consultation to clinical departments regarding charges and medical documentation.

• Support special projects and provide internal training focused on revenue cycle competency and compliance.

• Execute defensive auditing and charge capture functions.

• Manage all components of the Chart Audit Committee.

• Share audit findings with relevant stakeholders.

• Address assigned pre-bill and post-bill edit inquiries.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and standards.

• Perform additional related duties as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Possess a current registered nurse (RN) license in the state where you practice.

• Have 5 years of relevant healthcare experience, or 3 years if holding a master's degree in a related field.

• Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing computers, software, and web-based applications.

• Exhibit effective verbal and written communication abilities.

• Possess strong skills in conflict resolution.

• Have solid presentation capabilities.

• Be willing to maintain a flexible work schedule, including availability for 24/7, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.

• Be able to travel between and within facilities.
