Risk & Insurance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily management of performance bond submissions, including documentation, timelines, and monitoring the status of ongoing deals.

• Develop and manage comprehensive risk reporting across the portfolio, focusing on bond capacity, exposure, and the status of insurance programs for both active and pipeline deals.

• Administer both corporate and project-specific insurance programs, which encompass renewals, certificates of insurance, and tracking of coverage.

• Create and maintain a data infrastructure that includes bond capacity, program terms, deal histories, and renewal schedules.

• Prepare bonding and insurance summaries at the deal level for negotiations with brokers and sureties.

• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Growth teams on the operational aspects of deal structuring.

• Develop processes, templates, and systems that facilitate the scalability of operations as Giga expands.

• Report directly to the Head of Risk & Insurance.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in insurance, risk management, or performance bonds/surety.

• Proficient understanding of the underwriting, pricing, and structuring of performance bonds; related transferable insurance experience is advantageous.

• Strong comprehension of corporate and project-level insurance programs.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Ability to operate effectively with incomplete information in a dynamic environment.

• Bonus: Experience at a surety company, insurance carrier, or brokerage.

• Bonus: Background in construction, infrastructure, or the industrial/energy sectors.

• Bonus: Relevant industry certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or surety bond producer credentials.

• Bonus: Experience in establishing a risk management function from the ground up.
