This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Identify patients’ primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance providers.
• Confirm patient benefits and eligibility by reaching out to insurance companies.
• Request prior authorizations and referrals for necessary services.
• Assess the financial impact on patients and inform them of potential financial obligations.
• Verify medical insurance benefits for new, current, and reactivated patients.
• Review and update patient accounts with relevant insurance policy details.
• Document accounts with clear summaries of eligibility and insurance benefits.
• Establish accurate Coordination of Benefits.
• Verify network status and member benefit coverage.
• Collect and accurately input insurance, demographic, and eligibility data.
• Examine customer files for any missing insurance information essential for billing.
• Conduct financial reviews of existing accounts to identify any benefit-related issues.
• Manage incoming faxes, manuals, logs, and other documentation effectively.
• Complete insurance verification, reimbursement summaries, and liability forms.
• Inform the Manager of trends and updates in verification processes.
• Achieve individual, departmental, and organizational objectives.
• Operate in accordance with ethical and professional standards, adhering to relevant laws, regulations, the Advamed Code of Ethics, and company policies.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in medical insurance plans or benefit verification practices.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to read and comprehend explanations of medical benefits.
