This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
• Perform on-site evaluations and assessments of risk control for specialized and niche-market policyholders.
• Identify potential exposures, evaluate existing controls, and create and convey risk control reports.
• Advise policyholders on their operations, claims patterns, insured coverages, and recommendations for hazard reduction.
• Tailor consultative services to address specific loss drivers and exposures.
• Act as a primary technical resource within an assigned specialized focus area.
• Offer technical expertise and guidance to members of the Risk Control team.
• Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts on complex technical inquiries.
• Provide updates to Underwriting, Sales, and Claims teams to aid in renewal decision-making.
• Advocate for risk control functions through agency visits and presentations within the industry.
• Clarify business operations, associated hazards, and controls related to coverages.
• Conduct advanced training sessions and perform on-site loss control assessments.
• Identify accounts that require ongoing or concentrated short-term service.
• Analyze past losses and current exposures for large, complex accounts and formulate service plans.
• Deliver customized hazard control, ergonomic, and slip-fall assessments while documenting service reports.
• Foster positive relationships with accounts and agents.
• Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, industrial safety, fire protection, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• A minimum of five years of experience in risk control, safety, or a related field.
• Certification as a Certified Safety Professional is preferred.
• Proficient computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations in industrial, construction, fire, and commercial automotive sectors.
• Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and NFPA standards and codes.
• Strong ability to comprehend and assess risk.
• Capacity to identify and visualize potential loss exposures.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Capability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report in accordance with company standards is required for driving.
