This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Perform online medical investigations related to Motor Vehicle Accident and Health Insurance claims utilizing EnableComp’s exclusive software, systems, tools, and online medical resources.
• Conduct research, request, obtain, and examine medical records, provider notes, explanations of benefits, and relevant documentation.
• Oversee the claim lifecycle while communicating effectively with insurance providers.
• Reach out to payers for claim status, refile claims when necessary, and escalate issues as needed.
• Manage claim and resolution activities for HI/GI accounts receivable.
• Address denied claims by submitting corrected claims and initiating appeals.
• Collaborate with involved parties regarding insurance benefits, claim status, and additional requirements.
• Analyze health insurance remittances and work with payers to resolve underpayments.
• Recognize denial trends and notify leadership to aid in denial prevention.
• Serve as a liaison between EnableComp clients, patient attorneys, and insurance companies.
• Handle PHI while ensuring the privacy and security of confidential and proprietary information.
• Communicate issues through the manager, including system errors and HIPAA inquiries.
• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• An Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare billing or collections is required.
• Experience with EMR/Billing systems is essential.
• At least 2 years’ experience in client-facing or customer service roles.
• A minimum of 1 year’s experience in resolving Health Insurance/Government Insurance claims.
• Strong proficiency in computer skills is necessary.
• Basic proficiency in office applications, including MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Intermediate understanding of insurance payer/provider claims processing and data requirements for motor vehicle claims.
• Intermediate knowledge of Health Insurance/Government Insurance claims processing.
• Basic understanding of MVA legal requirements.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
