This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take charge of the month-end and year-end closing processes related to revenue recognition, ensuring that all revenue-related accounting and reporting are accurate, timely, and compliant with U.S. GAAP.
• Conduct reconciliations for key revenue accounts, investigate discrepancies, and drive resolutions for any issues that arise.
• Prepare and review revenue-related journal entries, including a thorough analysis of underlying drivers and necessary supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Controller and CFO to manage financial accounting policies and procedures concerning revenue recognition and internal controls.
• Work alongside Shared Services General Accounting to guarantee that the enterprise maintains consistent coding and accuracy in journal entry activities across the organization.
• Assist in the integration of new acquisitions into our D365 ERP system, focusing on the validation of revenue accounts, deferred/unbilled revenue, and project setup.
• Perform a technical accounting review on contracts, providing expert knowledge of ASC606 guidance for complex revenue contracts and transactions to ensure appropriate revenue recognition under US GAAP.
• Conduct thorough reviews of all standard and non-standard new sales contracts, emphasizing the identification of multiple performance obligations and ensuring accurate revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Delivery, Legal) to optimize the complete revenue operations process from contract creation to cash collection, including the automation and enhancement of processes and systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or an equivalent credential is preferred.
• A minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting and financial management, particularly within the enterprise software and/or SaaS industry.
• Strong grasp of ASC 606 principles and US GAAP.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in large ERP systems is essential; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is advantageous.
• Strong computer skills, particularly advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
