This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer operational and analytical assistance for DHA UBO revenue cycle initiatives.
• Evaluate and analyze revenue cycle procedures across front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end operations.
• Support the review, maintenance, validation, and optimization of the Charge Description Master (CDM).
• Assess charge capture processes to pinpoint missing, incorrect, or inconsistent charges.
• Utilize knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, coding guidelines, and reimbursement requirements.
• Aid in coding, billing, and revenue integrity reviews and audits.
• Analyze claims, charges, denials, payments, and other revenue-cycle data to discover trends and areas for enhancement.
• Investigate coding, reimbursement, payer, and billing requirements, and relay findings to the project team.
• Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies related to coding, billing, charge capture, and reimbursement.
• Support the development and tracking of revenue-cycle performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Aid in data validation and quality assurance activities.
• Create reports, trackers, presentations, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Document findings and present recommendations to project leadership and client stakeholders.
• Participate in UBO meetings, working groups, audits, and initiatives for process improvement.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to further UBO objectives and meet contract deliverables.
• 5–7 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, medical coding, billing, revenue integrity, reimbursement, or related healthcare operations.
• Current professional coding certification, such as CPC, CCS, CCS-P, COC, CIC, or an equivalent nationally recognized certification.
• Proficient understanding of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, and healthcare coding guidelines.
• Knowledge of hospital and/or professional billing and reimbursement processes.
• Experience in reviewing and analyzing healthcare revenue-cycle data.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to identify discrepancies and clearly document findings and recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and adhere to established deadlines.
• Capacity to obtain and maintain necessary DHA/DoD system and security access.
• Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
