This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Cultivates and sustains strong working relationships with Cedars-Sinai Clinical Departments, external clients, and patients by performing tasks such as identifying, analyzing, resolving, and responding to client inquiries, concerns, and issues, as well as following up on accounts to ensure resolution.
• Proposes enhancements for operational processes to ensure that billing information is received from client groups in a timely and accurate manner.
• Stays updated on rules and regulations impacting coding and reimbursement by maintaining current knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 in assigned areas for precise charge review assessments.
• Enters specialty or cosmetic charges, generates manual invoices, and follows up to secure payment.
• Recognizes and promotes new services for the proper creation of pseudo-codes.
• Detects potential coding deficiencies through charge and medical record reviews, coordinating coding reviews to ensure accurate charge capture.
• Examines accounts on the OCS report with providers to pinpoint balances that have been approved or declined for additional collection efforts.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required. College-level coursework in Finance, Business, or Health Insurance is preferred.
• At least 4 years of professional and/or hospital revenue cycle billing experience is required, with a preference for professional billing experience.
• Experience in follow-up collections is sought.
• Familiarity with workers' compensation is a plus.
