Portfolio Strategist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assist in the assessment of the existing and upcoming games portfolio.

• Contribute to investment analyses in gaming spanning various genres and business models.

• Aid in formulating recommendations for portfolio composition that balances risk and returns.

• Work together with senior strategists and cross-functional teams to create models and perform market analyses.

• Convert data-driven insights into clear communications for studio and PlayStation Studios leadership.

• Evaluate the games portfolio across intellectual properties, genres, business models, and risk levels to discover opportunities for growth and diversification.

• Examine the gaming market, competitive landscape, consumer behaviors, and technological advancements.

• Develop and sustain portfolio models through multiple iterations.

• Provide data and analytical support to senior strategists and executives for portfolio decision-making.

• Manage specific strategic workstreams and high-impact projects with direction from senior team members.

• Collaborate with studio and production teams to assess the portfolio fit and the economic viability of game development initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in strategy, product management, or analytics within the gaming industry, or in management/strategy consulting.

• Strong understanding of the gaming industry and familiarity with the wider media and entertainment sector.

• Capability to independently manage tasks and successfully complete projects.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in financial modeling.

• Experience with mathematical models and statistical methodologies.

• Skilled in producing well-crafted PowerPoint presentations and Excel models.
