This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare, review, and accurately submit claims to insurance providers.
• Verify and ensure the precision of billing codes (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10) and modifiers for services provided.
• Stay informed about Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing regulations pertinent to home health care.
• Utilize billing software to manage and track claims efficiently.
• Monitor claim statuses and promptly follow up on any unpaid or denied claims.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, denials, and appeals related to claims.
• Generate reports detailing outstanding accounts receivable and payment trends.
• Ensure that all billing practices adhere to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Verify patient insurance details, eligibility, and prior authorization requirements.
• Maintain precise records of billing activities and patient accounts.
• Collaborate with office personnel and payers to resolve billing and reimbursement concerns.
• Communicate clearly with patients regarding their billing, payments, and financial obligations.
• Address inquiries from payers, patients, and colleagues in a professional and timely manner.
• High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory); an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred).
• Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CPB) is highly recommended.
• 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, ideally within a home health care environment.
• Strong understanding of home health billing codes, insurance guidelines, and reimbursement procedures.
• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and billing software.
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
• Exceptional problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
