Revenue Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyze and interpret customer contracts to pinpoint terms and conditions that influence revenue recognition in a customer-focused and responsible manner.

• Collaborate with the Global Finance team to establish ASC 606 revenue recognition models, ensuring alignment with company policy, technical precision, and consistency.

• Carry out monthly and quarterly revenue close activities in a prompt, precise, and thoroughly documented manner.

• Oversee compliance related to revenue recognition controls, emphasizing accountability and reliability.

• Assist external audits through comprehensive documentation, timely communication, and cooperative engagement.

• Work collaboratively to develop strong working relationships across Finance and non-Finance teams, including Sales, Legal, and Operations.

• Utilize ASC 606 technical accounting guidelines to address company-specific revenue scenarios that involve complex, multi-element arrangements.

• Review new contracts, amendments, and statements of work (SOWs) to verify compliance with GAAP and company policies.

• Identify, document, and convey intricate revenue accounting issues to stakeholders and auditors in a clear and authentic manner.

• Prepare technical accounting memoranda in accordance with US GAAP.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of revenue policies, procedures, and processes within an agile and innovative technology environment.

• Address revenue-related inquiries and ad-hoc requests, providing clear analyses, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).

• Over 8 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, revenue operations, or finance within a SaaS or software organization.

• Experience in managing and mentoring team members, offering guidance, reviewing work, and supporting professional growth.

• Strong technical expertise in revenue accounting with comprehensive knowledge of ASC 606 and the ability to apply it to complex transactions.

• Proven capability to review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and control activities in accordance with internal controls and accounting standards.

• Established ability to scale and enhance global revenue processes in a high-growth setting.

• Familiarity with systems like Salesforce, Maxio, and NetSuite is advantageous.

• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with the capacity to present complex issues clearly to stakeholders at all levels.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks while adhering to strict timelines.

• Self-motivated individual with a proven problem-solving aptitude, capable of identifying issues, proposing solutions, and executing initiatives independently.
