This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee comprehensive analytics for first orders and new business, starting from identifying key questions with stakeholders to creating datasets, conducting analyses, and providing clear recommendations that guide sales strategies.
• Assess which existing Tableau dashboards require maintenance, which should be updated to align with new reporting standards, and which can transition to AI-driven solutions.
• Conduct in-depth analyses of the first order pipeline, new business achievement, and various sales metrics using SQL and Python to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Work closely with Sales, Field Operations / RevOps, Finance, and Customer Success teams to convert business needs into scalable analytical solutions and tools.
• Ensure the quality, structure, and usability of sales data in collaboration with central data teams, maintaining consistency across Snowflake, dbt models, and other relevant data sources.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and project timelines, prioritizing requests and clearly communicating trade-offs and outcomes in a structured manner.
• Collaborate with Customer Success and broader go-to-market teams to align sales analytics with go-to-market and customer success metrics as necessary.
• Contribute to enhancing analytics processes, documentation, and standards to enable the team to operate more efficiently and reuse impactful analytical assets.
• Experience in sales analytics, with practical knowledge in interpreting essential sales metrics such as pipeline health, quota achievement, and forecast precision.
• Expertise in AI and business intelligence tools, including hands-on experience with Tableau or a similar BI platform, and the ability to adapt to GitLab’s tools and methodologies.
• Strong skills in querying and transforming data using SQL and Python, along with comfort in working with contemporary data warehouses and analytics environments.
• Familiarity with Analytic Engineering and the ability to decide whether a solution should be a view, a table, or a custom query to meet long-term goals.
• Proficient in managing projects and stakeholders, translating business inquiries into analytical plans and conveying insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Background in supporting sales or go-to-market teams, with knowledge in areas such as new business development, pre-sales, marketing, or small and mid-market sales processes.
• Experience with tools and concepts like dbt, Snowflake, or similar technologies, along with an understanding of data structures that facilitate scalable reporting.
• Strong, structured communication skills in a fully remote, asynchronous setting, including documenting work and collaborating across different time zones.
• Willingness to learn GitLab’s product, data model, and operational methods, with relevant experience from sales, revenue, or field operations analytics roles.
