Revenue Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyze customer contracts to ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 across all our products and services.

• Oversee the month-end revenue close process, which includes the preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation of revenue accounts to ensure timely and precise financial results.

• Manage and execute the complete order-to-cash cycle, encompassing billing, collections, accounts receivable, and revenue tracking.

• Develop revenue reporting and analytical materials to support company-wide monthly and quarterly reporting obligations.

• Assist with audit and tax requests to ensure a smooth quarterly and year-end review and audit process.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to standardize procedures, promote process improvements, and implement automation efforts to enhance revenue accounting operations and improve the quality of monthly closes, including internal controls.

• Lead and support the Billing team to guarantee accurate invoicing per customer contracts.

• Ensure thoroughness in the revenue recognition process, making sure all clients are billed and revenue is recorded appropriately.

• Maintain compliance with US-GAAP and ASC 606.

• Recognize and initiate continuous improvement projects to automate revenue accounting processes, including data reconciliation, reporting, and analysis.

• Work collaboratively with various Finance functions, including Sales and Customer Service Operations.

• Supervise a small team across multiple locations to ensure tasks are completed accurately and within established deadlines.

• Contribute to the development and growth of the team by mentoring, educating, and reviewing the work of others.

• Prepare memos and presentations to align with and influence the team’s business partners.

• Engage in special projects as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA is a plus.

• 5-6 years of experience in Finance/Accounting within SAAS or similar technology companies; experience with usage-based billing is highly advantageous, with 2-3 years dedicated to revenue recognition or revenue accounting.

• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting software; knowledge of the Salesforce platform is a plus; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required.

• Strong expertise in applying ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers) and other pertinent accounting standards (US GAAP).

• Effective communication skills with the ability to influence, interact, and collaborate with cross-functional and remote teams.
