This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Revenue Accounting team by establishing priorities, offering feedback, aiding in performance management, and promoting accountability.
• Cultivate a high-performing, collaborative team environment.
• Oversee and assist with monthly and quarterly closing activities for designated retail revenue sectors, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis.
• Record and assess accruals, reserves, deferred revenue, accounts receivable-related entries, and other retail accounting transactions.
• Deliver analysis and insights on retail revenue trends, fluctuations, risks, and key balances.
• Collaborate with Technical Accounting to evaluate ASC 606 impacts and ensure consistent application of accounting conclusions.
• Convert accounting guidelines into actionable steps, documentation, and practical business requirements.
• Act as an accounting resource for cross-functional teams.
• Facilitate retailer and distribution partner onboarding through transaction flow assessments, ERP setup validation, reconciliations, and closing readiness.
• Partner with Business Systems, Retail, RevOps, Logistics, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain and enhance standard operating procedures, process documentation, controls, and audit-preparedness materials.
• Identify process gaps, investigate underlying causes, and drive enhancements in retail revenue accounting workflows.
• Assist Accounting and business partners with guidance and resolution of operational issues.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, specifically in revenue accounting and ASC 606.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in people management.
• Experience in overseeing the daily execution of an accounting team.
• Retail accounting experience, including retailer reconciliations, deductions or credits, reserves, and closing support.
• Strong working knowledge of ASC 606.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a process-driven mindset.
• Capability to work independently and influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
• Proven people leadership skills, including direction setting, coaching, and performance management.
• Strong systems and process orientation, with a willingness to delve into data, system flows, and configurations.
• Exceptional communication skills for articulating complex accounting and process subjects in simple terms.
• CPA (or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience in high-growth and/or global organizations preferred.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Experience in audit support, documentation preparation, and operation in SOX-compliant or public company settings preferred.
• Experience in developing or enhancing templates, playbooks, and scalable documentation processes preferred.
• Remote position within the United States; open to candidates from all continental U.S. time zones.
