This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Conduct scheduled diabetic eye examinations and retinal screenings for members at healthcare provider locations.
• Travel to healthcare provider facilities and patients' homes for scheduled eye examination appointments.
• Operate the retinal imaging equipment provided by the company.
• Assist in addressing eye examination and related quality gaps.
• Complete the company’s training on retinal imaging equipment and eye examination procedures prior to performing exams independently.
• Maintain proficiency through ongoing training as necessary.
• Oversee a daily schedule of eye examination appointments.
• Confirm appointments with healthcare providers and patients in advance.
• Organize travel arrangements.
• Foster and sustain relationships with colleagues, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Engage virtually with team members and stakeholders during non-appointment days.
• Perform duties related to quality improvement, reporting, patient outreach, and customer success.
• Must be a resident of the Birmingham, AL area.
• Willingness and capability to travel daily, up to 100%, to healthcare provider locations.
• No prior experience in eye examinations or imaging is required; comprehensive training and equipment will be provided.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
• Hold an associate degree or higher in a related field.
• Have a minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, quality measures, medical billing, or coding is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and various healthcare-related systems or applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Capability to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with management, colleagues, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Capacity to work independently in a remote setting.
• An internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload is required.
• Certification or licensure as a healthcare professional, such as CMA or LPN, is preferred.
• Travel time is compensated.
• Mileage reimbursement in accordance with IRS guidelines.
