
Retinal Camera Operator – Eye Exam Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Conduct scheduled diabetic eye examinations (retinal screenings) for members at provider practices.
• Travel to various provider practices and patient residences for scheduled eye examination appointments.
• Utilize company-provided retinal imaging devices.
• Assist in closing gaps related to eye examinations and overall quality.
• Complete company-sponsored training on retinal imaging technology and eye examination protocols prior to performing examinations independently.
• Maintain proficiency through ongoing training as necessary.
• Organize and manage a daily schedule of eye examination appointments.
• Confirm appointments with both practices and patients ahead of time.
• Coordinate travel arrangements.
• Establish and nurture relationships with colleagues, clients, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Engage virtually with team members, internal partners, clients, providers, payers, and care teams on days without appointments.
• Carry out responsibilities that support quality enhancement, reporting, patient outreach, and customer success.
• Willingness and ability to travel daily, potentially up to 100%, to provider practices.
• No prior experience with eye examinations or imaging necessary; comprehensive training and equipment will be provided.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation.
• An associate degree or higher in a relevant field is required.
• A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare environment is necessary.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, quality metrics, medical billing, or coding is advantageous.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and various healthcare-related systems or applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities are required.
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively with management, colleagues, clients, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Employees must provide their own internet connection that supports video calls and system access.
• A minimum internet speed of 100 Mbps for downloads and 10 Mbps for uploads is required.
• Travel to and from appointments is reimbursed by the company.
• All mileage and travel expenses related to eye examination visits are covered by the company.
