This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.
• Assist with a range of projects and activities focused on genocide prevention and response, including research, policy outreach, educational initiatives, and administrative support.
• Provide support to various Simon-Skjodt Center research projects, such as the Early Warning Project and the Lessons Learned in Preventing and Responding to Mass Atrocities project.
• Engage in multiple research endeavors examining the dynamics of mass atrocities and the policy responses in nations that are at risk or currently facing mass atrocities.
• Conduct literature reviews on scholarly studies pertaining to mass atrocities and their prevention.
• Take detailed notes during interviews and other meetings.
• Support research for the Early Warning Project, which includes analyzing fatality counts in high-risk countries using Excel, qualitative analysis, and research on specific nations at risk.
• Draft analytical memos and rapporteur's reports.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree (as a junior or senior at the time of application) or a graduate degree from an accredited institution.
• A strong passion for genocide and mass atrocity prevention, demonstrated through relevant coursework, research experience, and/or professional involvement.
• Experience in researching and writing about contemporary mass atrocities and their prevention.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.
