
Research Intern – Global Macro & Public Markets

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee and evaluate significant macroeconomic trends in the U.S., India, Europe, China, and other key markets.
• Convert macroeconomic trends into coherent, evidence-supported research conclusions.
• Examine the impact of macroeconomic shifts on equity valuations, earnings projections, sector performance, risk premiums, capital allocation, corporate financing conditions, and investment cycles.
• Assist in company-level public equity research within broader macroeconomic and thematic contexts.
• Assess business models, competitive positioning, revenue and margin sustainability, capital allocation, balance-sheet robustness, valuation, scenario analysis, and sensitivity to interest rates, inflation, liquidity, and economic cycles.
• Contribute to comprehensive macro research papers, thematic research notes, company and sector analyses, weekly research publications, and the Calisade Digest.
• Justify reasoning, address challenges, revise work, and enhance analytical frameworks over time.
• CFA Level II completed or higher; CFA Level III candidate or CFA charterholder preferred.
• MBA from an accredited institution with a strong emphasis on Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
• Strong understanding of macroeconomic principles and capital markets.
• Proven interest or experience in global macroeconomics, monetary policy, inflation and real rates, fixed income and duration, fiscal policy and sovereign debt, liquidity and credit cycles, global capital flows, cross-asset relationships, macro-driven equity research, or investment regime analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of the interplay between inflation, interest rates, liquidity, credit, valuations, capital flows, and equity/sector outcomes.
• Strong macroeconomic reasoning with the ability to connect macro factors to market dynamics.
• Analytical rigor, robust macroeconomic intuition, structured thinking, evidence-based reasoning, intellectual curiosity, and the capability to synthesize complex information.
• Exceptional written English skills.
• Willingness to challenge consensus views and defend as well as revise arguments.
