Research Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Provide research assistance to BGA regional teams and field offices on matters concerning politics, economics, regulatory policies, international trade, strategic communications, and business intelligence.

• Prepare and refine briefings, profiles, presentations, memos, research papers, BGA event handbooks, and various materials for clients.

• Contribute to the creation of country-specific news updates for clients.

• Monitor pertinent news stories for client updates on developments specific to various sectors.

• Attend events related to the Indo-Pacific region at think tanks, universities, and other relevant organizations, and provide summaries to BGA staff.

• Offer logistical support for BGA events held in Washington.

• Assist the BGA research team and the broader client services team as required.

• Aid in data entry and other administrative responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Excellent research, analytical, writing, and editing abilities.

• Familiarity with the AP Stylebook is advantageous.

• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web browsing tools is essential.

• Knowledge of and/or experience with China, Southeast Asia, or South Asia/India is a requirement.

• Ideal candidates will possess specific knowledge in business sectors such as finance, energy, information technology, electronics, transport and distribution, manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods, agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and media.

• Professional-level English language proficiency is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

• Applications are encouraged from both graduate students and upperclassmen in undergraduate programs.
