Research Director, IT Financial Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead and execute IT Spend and Staffing Benchmarking projects with support from analysts.

• Provide guidance to C-suite clients on IT Financial Management, cost control, and enhancing cost-to-value metrics.

• Enhance benchmarking services by implementing new data representations and providing deeper insights.

• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices while contributing innovative ideas to shape the benchmarking service.

• Assist Call Advisory, Workshops, and Global Services teams with research and analysis of IT Spend and Staffing benchmarks.

• Offer subject-matter expertise and feedback to the Research Division and collaborating divisions.

• Design and present keynote addresses and other executive presentations.

• Contribute to the development of benchmarking methodology, mapping standards, and delivery tools.

• Support initiatives focused on automation and data infrastructure.

• Mentor Research Analysts and review benchmark outputs and materials prepared for clients.

• Utilize AI productivity tools in analysis, research, and writing processes, sharing best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required; a focus on business or technology is preferred.

• 5–10+ years of hands-on experience in IT Cost Benchmarking, IT Financial Management, or Project Management.

• Experience in environments driven by projects.

• Proven presentation and facilitation skills demonstrated through previous client-facing roles.

• Eligibility to obtain the necessary work authorization for cross-border engagements in North America and globally.

• Willingness to work after hours occasionally to support client engagements based in APAC.

• Strongly preferred: established trusted-advisor relationships with management and C-suite executives.

• Strongly preferred: experience in leading teams.

• Strongly preferred: professional certifications in Finance and Accounting, Project Management, Business Analysis, or related fields.

• Strongly preferred: active use of AI productivity tools such as Claude or Copilot.

• Additional qualifications: MA, MBA, or MSc.

• Experience with ERP or financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or Dynamics.

• Previous experience with cross-departmental initiatives.

• Must be eligible for the appropriate work visa for cross-border employment in North America and globally.

• Bilingual proficiency in French, Spanish, or German is preferred.

• Understanding of IT Spend and Staffing Benchmarking methodology, cost frameworks, and peer set construction.

• Management of project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.

• Experience with AI productivity tools such as Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT.
