Research Consultant, Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with clients to create data science solutions and evaluate AI-ready multimodal datasets.

• Curate datasets by pinpointing patient subpopulations or disease cohorts and aggregating multimodal data.

• Lead analytics research from initiation to completion, taking ownership of study design, data curation strategies, effort estimation, analytic design, and final delivery.

• Create statistical analysis plans for evidence-generation projects.

• Query intricate healthcare source systems, including EMRs, ECG data, and DICOM data.

• Develop descriptive analyses along with predictive and causal inference models.

• Summarize methods and findings for both internal and external audiences, conferences, and peer-reviewed publications.

• Provide support for SQL and analytical programming, data management, quality control, and reporting.

• Create code and documentation for high-quality, HIPAA-compliant data products.

• Present findings and recommendations to diverse technical and clinical audiences, as well as senior leadership.

• Identify and troubleshoot data and analytical issues.

• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and validity of data and analyses.

• Report to the Research Data Science Manager.

• Occasional travel for in-person company workdays approximately on a quarterly basis.

⛳️ Requirements

• M.S. or PhD in a relevant field, such as Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, or Biostatistics, or a B.S. with a minimum of seven years of experience.

• Experience in client engagement, crafting project proposals, and leading teams.

• Background in statistical modeling and real-world data analysis.

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.

• Over 1 year of experience extracting, curating, and analyzing data generated within the HIT and healthcare delivery ecosystem.

• Knowledge of data exchange and content standards like FHIR, CDA, and CQL is preferred.

• Familiarity with clinical terminology standards such as ICD, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED-CT, NDC, and RxNorm is advantageous.

• Strong skills in technical writing, editing, and communication.

• Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

• Proficient in SQL.

• Skilled in Python and/or R.

• Experience with Git and version control.

• Familiarity with encryption techniques and regular expressions.

• Experience querying EDWs or databases and generating healthcare data reports or analytics.

• Knowledge of electronic medical record systems like Epic, Cerner, and Allscripts.

• Previous experience working with insurance claims data.

• Familiarity with medical terminologies or controlled vocabularies.

• Experience with medical ontologies.

• Knowledge of NLP techniques.

• Experience with DICOM or other imaging modalities.

• Familiarity with the OMOP common data model.

• Understanding of machine learning concepts.

• Experience with AWS.

• Must currently reside in the US and be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis.
