This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Perform literature reviews and syntheses, formulate research questions to explore through CVNs archival and/or prospective data collection methods, and seek out grant funding opportunities to broaden and enhance our research portfolio and its impact on the field.
• Assist in internal operations research and quality improvement initiatives, optimizing clinical care and organizational processes to ensure CVN evolves as a learning mental health network and advances the field.
• Design proposed research projects leveraging subject matter expertise, experience, and thorough evaluation of existing evidence, including peer-reviewed literature.
• Create and implement a variety of analytic techniques, methodologies, and research designs; execute and present analyses of archival and prospective data.
• Conduct data extraction, transformation, and analysis from EHR systems using SQL and R and/or Python.
• Support operational analytics requirements across clinical programs (e.g., outcomes tracking, measurement-based care, program evaluation).
• Establish reproducible data pipelines and analytic workflows.
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and data engineering teams to ensure data quality and usability.
• Utilize research and data analytic tools and methodologies to tackle and resolve clinical and operational challenges in conjunction with the IQ team, other departments, and CVN leadership.
• Assist in program evaluation efforts and operational projects and studies.
• Convert complex findings into actionable insights for both scientific and non-technical audiences.
• Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to bolster internal research initiatives, research grants, CVN’s Scientific Advisory Board, and collaboration between CVN-IQ and other departments and clinics within the network.
• Aid in the development, review, and submission of grant applications, research proposals, and IRB protocols.
• Execute miscellaneous job-related responsibilities or other projects as assigned.
• Doctorate (PhD) in clinical psychology or a related clinical/social science field.
• 5-7 years of experience (including doctoral training) in a research institute or academic environment.
• Expertise or substantial knowledge in clinical or experimental psychology or a related field.
• Proficiency in data management, cleaning, and analytic procedures and methodologies.
• In-depth understanding of social science research methodologies and designs, including theoretical models and major paradigms such as qualitative/quantitative, mixed methods, surveys, longitudinal, and cross-sectional studies.
• Ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute research studies independently or as part of a team, including designing sampling strategies, study protocols, and data analytic plans.
• Documented history of publication in scholarly/peer-reviewed journals.
• Competent in using technology, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with familiarity in online grant application platforms.
• Experience with Smartsheet is preferred.
• Proven ability to write effectively and professionally for academic and scientific audiences, including review panels.
• Familiarity with human subjects protections/IRB protocols and processes.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
