This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Conduct LOLER, PUWER, and PSSR statutory inspections within the wind energy sector.
• Execute maintenance tasks on lifting and safety equipment crucial for the safe and efficient functioning of both onshore and offshore wind turbines.
• Detect defects and evaluate their effect on the ongoing safe utilization of equipment.
• Carry out inspections and maintenance at client locations, both onshore and offshore.
• Follow risk assessments and method statements while identifying potential hazards.
• Uphold impartiality and independence in compliance with ISO 17020.
• Travel across the UK and Europe.
• A seasoned candidate with prior relevant experience in inspecting general lifting equipment, manual lifting machines, powered lifting machines, service lifts, PUWER equipment, PSSR accumulators, or pressure relief valves in wind turbine generators.
• GWO Training certification.
• OGUK Medical and Chester Step test certification.
• LEEA Qualified or equivalent qualification.
• Preferred background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• OEM Training or equivalent in Service Lifts is preferred.
• PSSR training for the examination of minor and intermediate systems found in wind turbines is preferred.
• Training in Davit Crane Inspections / Maintenance is preferred.
• Training in Electric Hoists Inspection / Maintenance is preferred.
• Training in Turbine Mounted Safety Equipment Inspection.
• Training in Fire Extinguisher Servicing is preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of inspection processes related to wind turbine equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of equipment defects, how to identify them, and their safety implications.
• Awareness of defect acceptance criteria.
• Understanding of degradation mechanisms.
• Strong working knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, and PSSR regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety practices.
• Good grasp of risk assessment processes.
• Confident, customer-oriented, and capable of effective communication at all levels.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and communication skills.
• Proficient IT skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong decision-making capabilities.
• Must maintain impartiality and independence at all times in accordance with ISO 17020.
• Understanding of tools and instruments used for testing and inspection.
• Must be physically fit, diligent, self-motivated, and eager to learn and grow continuously.
• Must be willing to travel throughout the UK and Europe.
• Experience in working on customer sites, both onshore and offshore, within a highly regulated environment.
• Experience in adhering to risk assessments and method statements while identifying risks.
