Release Manager, Product Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The Release Manager is essential for the effective planning, coordination, and delivery of software releases within the Product Development organization.

• This position acts as the key point of accountability for release execution, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality, dependable software within set timelines.

• Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the comprehensive release calendar across the portfolio.

• Define the scope, milestones, dependencies, and timelines for delivery.

• Coordinate planning across product, development, testing, and deployment stages to ensure commitments are realistic and transparent.

• Serve as the main contact for release execution among Product, Engineering, QA, and DevOps.

• Conduct release readiness reviews, collaborate on go/no-go decisions, and manage stakeholder communications.

• Oversee production deployment schedules, including the coordination of release windows and sequencing.

• Ensure that rollback and contingency plans are established and tested thoroughly.

• Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks that could affect release timelines or software quality.

• Drive ongoing enhancements to release processes to minimize risks over time.

• Collaborate with DevOps to enhance release automation, pipeline reliability, repeatability, and deployment speed.

• Monitor performance and stability post-release.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in Product Development environments.

• Experience in supporting SaaS-based software products.

• Practical experience with Jira for planning, tracking, and coordinating releases.

• Outstanding communication, project management, and organizational abilities, with the capacity to coordinate between technical and non-technical teams.

• Experience in health technology or regulated software environments is preferred.

• Previous ownership of release management for portfolios involving multiple teams or products is preferred.

• Familiarity with feature flag and release management tools (e.g., LaunchDarkly) is preferred.

• Proven ability to guide teams through high-pressure deployment schedules is preferred.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach is preferred.

• Experience utilizing and enabling agentic AI capabilities within the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC), including AI-assisted planning, testing, release validation, monitoring, or operational workflows is preferred.
