This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Timely processing, rating, and releasing of client shipments in accordance with operational procedures and service standards.
• Creation of customs entries by examining shipment documentation, selecting relevant client records, vendors, keywords, and HS codes.
• Inputting shipment data for release, rating, and billing, while ensuring all mandatory fields are accurate and complete.
• Assessing the correct value for duty and tariff treatment based on invoice details and terms of sale.
• Soliciting any missing documentation, information, or instructions from Release Import Analysts, clients, or client service teams.
• Confirming release-condition, compliance, rating, and free-trade-certificate documentation.
• Adhering to SOPs, ESPs, business rules, and specific client instructions while suggesting updates to outdated procedures.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and client service.
• Conducting research and professionally responding to information requests from the Call Center via phone or email as applicable.
• Prioritizing tasks based on client and customs requirements, escalating release issues when necessary.
• Updating, approving, and releasing billing information; assisting with billing and ASR data entry as required.
• Engaging in daily Release Operations while utilizing available system automation tools.
• Executing additional related duties assigned by management and complying with established policies and procedures.
• No prior experience is necessary.
• A High School diploma/GED or equivalent is required.
• An Associate's Degree or post-secondary education is preferred.
• Exceptional oral and written communication and organizational skills are essential.
• A client-service orientation and strong interpersonal skills for interaction with internal and external clients and colleagues.
• Capability to manage high volumes of work and meet stringent deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, completeness, and accuracy is crucial.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Ability to make decisions and recommendations within authorized limits.
• Excellent time-management skills are necessary.
• Capacity to present a professional image.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel is required.
• Progress toward or successful completion of the Certified Customs Specialists (CCS) designation with CSCB or NCBFAA is required if not already obtained.
• Successful completion of the CCS examination is mandatory for further advancement.
