This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ The role involves following up on patient accounts related to all types of hospital claims.
β’ This entails tracking accounts through secondary and subsequent payers.
β’ A comprehensive understanding of hospital managed care contracts, standard collection processes, and state and federal regulations is essential.
β’ Knowledge of medical terminology along with diagnosis and procedure coding is required.
β’ Review all accounts with payments received the previous day.
β’ Address and resolve the reminder queue on a daily basis.
β’ Process secondary, tertiary, and other paper claims as necessary.
β’ Adhere to established policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.
β’ Engage in educational programs and in-service training.
β’ Deliver customer service to patients, internal customers, and insurance companies as required.
β’ Execute other assigned responsibilities.
β’ A High School diploma or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
β’ A minimum of three years of experience in hospital collections is required.
β’ In-depth knowledge of payer rules and regulations, including at least two years of experience with Texas Medicaid and government payers, is essential.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary.
β’ Experience with Meditech is advantageous.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
β’ Good mathematical skills are a must.
β’ Ability to receive, understand, and follow instructions; ability to work safely with equipment, supplies, and materials; ability to meet attendance requirements; and adherence to Human Resource policies is necessary.
