This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the trusted legal consultant on regulatory issues for various WM Partners portfolio companies.
• Collaborate with leadership, product development, quality assurance, marketing, operations, and commercial teams on compliance issues.
• Evaluate product labels, packaging, promotional claims, websites, social media, and other marketing materials.
• Provide guidance on regulations related to dietary supplements, food, beverages, cosmetics, and consumer health.
• Assist in the development of new products and the launch of these products.
• Assess regulatory risks and develop strategic guidance.
• Educate business partners and advise on modifications and updates to relevant laws.
• Oversee manufacturers and certifications.
• Address inquiries from the FDA and other compliance-related matters.
• Keep abreast of changes in the regulatory environment to proactively advise the business.
• Balance legal risks with commercial objectives, providing practical, business-oriented counsel.
• Collaborate with various portfolio companies in dynamic, entrepreneurial settings.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active law practice license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 3–5 years of legal experience post-law school.
• Background in FDA, FTC DA, FTC, advertising law, consumer protection, product labeling, regulatory compliance, or related fields, either at a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Strong knowledge of FDA and FTC regulations, including labeling, advertising, and product compliance.
• Capability to convey complex legal ideas in a practical, business-friendly manner.
• Exceptional judgment and strong analytical abilities.
• Competence in managing multiple projects and stakeholders concurrently.
• Preferred: experience supporting health and wellness, dietary supplement, food, beverage, cosmetic, or consumer packaged goods companies.
• Preferred: experience in reviewing marketing claims and promotional materials.
• Preferred: familiarity with FTC advertising regulations and NAD guidance.
